Can I add refrigerant to the equipment?
Tampering with the seals of the device without prior authorization from the technical assistance department of Bergstrom SLU will void the warranty if the device is still under warranty. Outside the warranty period, if it complies with the applicable regulations, the charge can be handled.
What refrigerant gas does my equipment use?
All our electric devices use R134a refrigerant gas.
How much refrigerant gas does my equipment contain?
The amount of gas contained is listed on the unit’s specification plate.
Is it necessary to pair the remote control with the equipment?
If it’s a radio frequency remote control, synchronization is necessary. If it’s infrared, it’s not.
How can I pair the remote control with my equipment?
To register the remote control, with the device turned off, hold down the “-” key on the control panel until “C C” starts blinking on the display. Once it stays steady, press the On/Off button on the remote control within 30 seconds, or you will need to repeat the entire process.
Where can I find an explanation of how the equipment works?

Troubleshooting / Diagnosis (where to find the manual) The installation manuals for each device can be found within the “Find Your Reference” table in each product. In this table, you can search by reference, product, and manual type.
What should I do if my equipment does not work?
If the device is still under warranty, go to your installing workshop. If it’s out of warranty, you can go to workshops of your truck’s brand or to workshops that are Bergstrom customers.
How long does my equipment work with the engine off?
The operating time depends on several factors:
-Available battery capacity in the vehicle (Ah)
-Climatic conditions (the higher the temperature, the higher the unit’s energy consumption)
-Selected interior temperature (the lower the chosen temperature, the higher the energy consumption until comfort conditions are reached)
Where can I find the performance data of my equipment?
To find the performance data of your equipment, go to the product and look in the “technical sheet” tab; there, you will find all the data.
Where can I buy equipment?
On the “Professional,” “For Work,” and “For Rest” pages, you will find a map of distributors where you can buy our equipment.
What are the advantages of the equipment?
The main advantage is that since these are electric devices and do not depend on the vehicle’s combustion engine, we can stop it, resulting in fuel savings.
For what applications is the equipment suitable?
To find the performance data of your equipment, go to the product and look in the “technical sheet” tab; in this tab, you should check the “Applications” section.
How can I find out if the equipment can be installed in my vehicle?
Within each product, in the “Models” tab, you will find the vehicles in which the product can be installed.
Do I need a refrigerant handling license to install equipment?
A certificate of competence is required for handling refrigeration systems with fluorinated refrigerant charges according to Royal Decree RD 115/2017.
Is it possible to reinstall my equipment in another vehicle?
As long as the installation is carried out by certified personnel.
Does my equipment require maintenance?
It depends on the model of the equipment. Maintenance recommendations can be found in your user manual.
Is it necessary to add refrigerant oil and/or additive when refilling the equipment with gas?
If the leak has occurred in the refrigeration circuit, usually not, as most of the oil remains in the compressor, with very little presence in the rest of the circuit. However, if the leak occurs directly in the compressor, it should be done (or the compressor should be replaced if necessary).
Is my equipment suitable for sleeping during the day in direct sunlight?
No
Under what conditions does the equipment offer maximum cooling capacity?
The power output of the equipment will depend on its operating conditions, both interior and exterior. The maximum power declared by manufacturers is usually given according to the ISO 5151:T2, with an indoor temperature of 27 BS / 19 BH ºC and an outdoor temperature of 35 BS / 24 BH ºC.

How can I improve the autonomy of my air conditioning?
To improve the autonomy of your air conditioner and enjoy more hours of operation, you should consider the following aspects: 1. Identify the devices that consume the most power and avoid using them at the same time as the air conditioner. 2. Use more efficient devices. 3. Increase the capacity of your batteries. 4. Increase the number of batteries. 5. Change the type of batteries from lead to lithium. 6. Install more solar panels or improve their capacity. 7. Use high-quality regulators. 8. Avoid solar radiation by using shades on windows and skylights, and avoid heat sources inside (kitchen or shower).
How can I increase the efficiency of my air conditioning?
We should be very careful to avoid generating additional heat inside through windows and/or skylights. Therefore, we should use thermal blinds or shades to prevent the temperature inside from rising. This helps improve the efficiency of our air conditioning system and allows the interior to cool down faster.
How does an air conditioner work?
An air conditioner works by absorbing heat from the indoor air, which is then transferred outside through a cycle of compression, condensation, expansion, and evaporation of the refrigerant. The cooled air is returned to the interior, creating a cooler and more comfortable environment.
How does an evaporative cooler work?
An evaporative cooling system uses the evaporation of water to cool the air. Water is pumped over a porous medium, such as poplar fiber filters, and the hot air passing through this medium is cooled by the evaporation of the water, creating a flow of cool air that is distributed throughout the space to be cooled
How many BTUs do I need for my vehicle?
To determine the appropriate size of the air conditioning system for your vehicle, it’s important to consult the vehicle manufacturer’s recommendations and, if necessary, seek the help of a professional in automotive air conditioning systems.
Evaporative cooler or air conditioner?
If you live in an area with a dry climate and are looking for a more economical and energy-efficient option (lead-acid batteries are sufficient), an evaporative cooling system could be a good choice. However, if you need powerful and precise cooling, especially in large areas or with high humidity, you might prefer a traditional air conditioner, which would require a greater investment in energy systems to ensure longer operating hours.
How is the efficiency of an air conditioning unit calculated?
Dividing the power in watts (according to ISO standard) by consumption.
How can I improve the efficiency of my air conditioner in my motorhome/caravan/camper?
Primarily, we need to ensure that the interior doesn’t heat up further. This can be achieved by keeping the interior dark using window and skylight shades, not leaving any windows or doors open, avoiding any internal heat sources, positioning the vehicle in an area with less solar radiation, using high-quality insulation, maintaining airflow inside to better distribute cool air, and keeping up with proper maintenance of our air conditioning or evaporative cooling system.
What maintenance does my air conditioner require?
Regular cleaning of air filters, checking the drainage, inspecting the electrical wiring and gas pressure, and assessing the overall condition of the seals
What maintenance does my evaporative cooler require?
With EVER’s exclusive technology, the filter only needs to be replaced when indicated by the touch screen. Approximately every 1000 hours of use. Clean the evaporative cooler’s water tank once a year.
Where can I request a quote to install OPENAIR / EVER?
